Babywearing in Canada & the woman who made it happen
Débora Rodrigues is the one-woman-show behind Babywearing in Canada. Between the awareness campaigns, the annual conference, the baby carrier shop and rental program, and the amazing baby wearing courses, she has more than her hands full! I was a proud sponsor of the 2016 Ottawa Babywearing in Canada Conference, and it was a pleasure to meet so many friendly people in the industry along with many expectant parents who were there to learn. I was delighted when she asked me to capture her family portraits.
Fall Family Portraits
I had the opportunity to photograph her with her two boys this past fall and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. In between all the cold, windy, and rainy days, our photo-shoot-Sunday was a gorgeous sunny morning. It was still a little chilly so we had coats and mittens on in between, but from the genuine warm smiles and laughs from these three, you’d never know!

The only thing more enjoyable than the actual portrait experience was seeing the joy on mom’s face when she picked up her artwork just in time for the Christmas holidays to show to friends and family. The love she has for her boys is palpable and I wish that pure joy upon everyone!

I could not have chosen a better photographer for my family. My boys were a little surly, I made them dress up and then dragged them out on a cold damp, but sunny morning for this shoot. Though brisk, a few fart jokes and suddenly we were all laughing and being silly. We barely felt the cold at all afterwards!
