Mothers Existing in their Newborn’s Portraits

Mothers Existing in their Newborn’s Portraits

I could speak or write about the importance of Mothers Existing in their Newborn’s Portraits for days. No exaggeration as it is something I am truly passionate about, and the only other thing that captures more of my passion is making sure you are photographing your to capture their constant growth (or hiring someone like me to do so).

While I may not have many pictures of my mother and I growing up, I do have ONE portrait of the two of us from when I was about 2 years old, and it it something that I hold very near and dear to me. Memories fade, Photographs are forever.

In all of our newborn sessions, even the baby-only option, there is at least one image of mom & baby in your gallery. You don’t have to show it to anyone, you don’t have to print it; but it exists. the important thing is to exist in photographs for your children, yes for yourself, and to create your family’s legacy. Don’t worry about wanting to have your hair perfect, or having the perfect outfit, or losing those last few pounds. Take a page from Nike’s book and JUST DO IT. I can absolutely promise you that you will never regret having a portrait with your family. I can however guarantee that you will regret not having any at all.  Still need some convincing? We offer professional hair & makeup services at the studio so you don’t have to worry, and a great photographer can work those angles and make you feel as great as you look. Plus, there’s photoshop for those blemishes that decide photo-day is the day to arrive.

That being said, I don’t have any (that I know of) frameable images with my dad and I, so I’ll need to work on that.. Dads are important too, and they too should be in portraits with your child, you, and your family. Your child(ren) deserve to have images with their parents as babies, and as they grow up.

Make the best decision of your entire life: Exist in Photos with your Child(ren)

UPDATE: A fellow photographer friend of mine, mother of four, recently wrote an article for us about her recent experience in front of the camera with her newborn. click here to read it.

These photos are gorgeous. I really wish I had taken pictures with my little girl when she was born. She’s almost 4 now!
